The father identified as Olusanyo Olayinka, was reportedly arraigned before an Ota Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State yesterday, July 15, 2016.
Mr Olayinka, a resident of No.3 Ejio Road, Ariybayo, Ifo, is reportedly facing a one-count charge of assault.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, disclosed to the court that the accused committed the offence on July 3, 2016 at about 10:00am at their residence.
He
went on to add that the accused assaulted his son, identity withheld,
with a cable wire, inflicting several injuries to his back, emphasising
that the offence breached Section 338(1) of the Criminal Code, Law of
Ogun, 2006.
Mr Olayinka reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges.
