Like Hong Kong-based photographer CM Leung, who has been voted among the top 30 wedding photographers in the world by his peers.
He’s got a very distinctive style, which combines natural light and striking backdrops.
On July 15, he was photographing a bride and groom in Iceland, making use of the stunning otherworldly light and scenery, when the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter landed nearby to rescue someone who had fallen while climbing.
Seizing the moment, he asked the bride to strike a pose while the helicopter took off overhead.
Somehow, she managed not to lose her head.
‘Whoa, that was close. That really was very close,’ onlookers can be heard saying in a behind-the-scenes clip of the photo shoot.
Although the footage is pretty dramatic, Birgir Örn Sigurðsson, a member of helicopter crew, stressed that rescue personnel were on the ground during the take off and the bride wasn’t in any danger.
The helicopter actually took off on the other side of the lake seen in the background.
The angle of the shot just makes it look a lot more hair-raising than it actually was.
We guess that’s what makes Leung one of the very best.
